William Alvin Oakley's Obituary
William Alvin Oakley, age 85, passed away on February 10, 2022 with his loving wife by his side. Bill was born on June 24th, 1936 in Briarcliff, NY and was raised in Ossining, NY. Bill was a police officer in Briarcliff and Ossining, NY from 1960-1981. Bill retired from the police force as the Chief of Police of the Town of Ossining and moved to Florida.
Bill was predeceased by his mother, Cleo (Nee Carrier) Oakley, and father, Kenneth Oakley as well as his sisters Barbara Meyers and Carol Scott.
Bill is survived by his wife Elizabeth "Beth" ( Nee Haines) Oakley, his brother Ray Oakley and sister-in-law Flo Oakley, of Ossining, NY, his daughters Tracey Smith and Jeanine Fisher as well as his grandchildren Anthony LaRocca, Andrea Roberts, Jacob Smith, Heather Fisher and Hunter Fisher, all from Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life services will be held at the 1st United Methodist Church of Punta Gorda, FL on March 10th, 2022 at 11:00am with a luncheon to follow.
