Joseph Marto's Obituary
Joseph Marto, 83, of Deep Creek, Florida has passed away Thursday July 21, 2016.
He was born May 26, 1933 in Camden, New Jersey the son of Michael and Jean (nee Caramna) Marto and moved to this area 5 years ago from Somers Point, New Jersey. Joe graduated Woodrow Wilson High School in 1951, after attending high school he was awarded a scholarship at the Academy of Arts in Philadelphia. His lust for life led him to the Race Track where he became a jockey. After suffering a spill he went on to enter into Masion De Paris School of Beauty Culture later to teach Advance Styling at the school. He was judged the top wig stylist in America, and went on to achieve success in the wig industry, in platform performing, and was a winner of many competition styling awards.
Joe was the president of the New Jersey Master Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association, and also President of the Delaware Valley Affiliate.
Joe active agility led him into still another endeavor "Bullfighting". As President of Bravo Enterprizes he promoted "The Festival of Matadores" at the Philadelphia Arena. Joe went on to become a Jockey's agent, breeder of Thoroughbreds, and a well known trainer, also owner of numerous businesses through out Atlantic City, New Jersey, and President and Manager of his Condominium Association, in Somers Point, New Jersey.
Joe will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Nancy Peraine of 24 years and there Shih Tzu Napoleon. Survived by his daughter Gina Gill, granddaughter Lea Burdette, and grandson William Gill, granddaughter Lea Burdette, and grandson William Gill, great granddaughters Kara-Lisa, and Katalina. Joe is reunited in Heaven with his daughter Lisa Marto.
