Paul Douglas Pearce
March 20, 1947 - August 6, 2014
Paul Douglas Pearce, 67, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Charlotte County, Fla., and North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014, in Cape Coral, Fla. Doug was of the Presbyterian faith. He was an entrepreneur, starting from the bottom, and he worked hard and built a successful retail furniture business, which he owned and operated for 20-plus years. Doug loved his wife, he loved his children and grandchildren and was such a devoted son. Our family takes comfort in the thought that he is reunited with our mother, our brother, his parents, and is shag dancing to beach music up in heaven. He is survived by his five children, Melanie Hope Hunt of North Carolina, Elizabeth (Ray) Gray of Anderson, S.C., Melissa (Paul) McDaniel of Cape Coral, Summer (Erik) Halgrim of Fort Myers, and Kelly Pearce of Fort Myer; his siblings Donald (Carol) Pearce of Chipley, Fla., and Elizabeth Quinn of Port Charlotte, Fla.; one nephew; three nieces; as well as 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Beth" Pearce in 2004; as well as their son, Paul Pearce II in 2013. A private family graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014. Arrangements are by Mullins Memorail Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral.
