Thomas E. Mott Sr.'s Obituary
Thomas Edward Mott Sr., 87, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018.
He was born May 7, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to George and Alice Mott. Tom graduated from Purcell Catholic High School and was a 1953 graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He then entered the US Air Force and served as Chief of Radio Communications for the Alaskan Air Command. Afterwards, Tom spent his 35 year career with Wheelabrator Corp. and traveled extensively throughout the Midwest as well as Germany and Japan. Tom retired in 1993 as a National Sales Manager for Wheelabrator.
Tom and his first wife, Gale Johnson Mott, had six children: Tom, Jr., Gary, Gretchen, Cindi, Joe and Steve. After Gale passed away, Tom married Arlene David Mott. In 1993, Tom and Arlene retired to Punta Gorda. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary just last year. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Punta Gorda Elks Lodge.
Tom is survived by his wife; children; stepsons, Chris, Mike and PJ; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
