Shirley St. Croix's Obituary
Shirley Christine St. Croix age 87, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023 in Mount Clemens, Michigan in the presence of her family. She was born on January 23, 1936 in Clarksville, Tennessee, and spent much of her lifetime growing a family in Michigan and Florida. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a heart for giving and always prioritized caring for her loved ones. She was gentle, soft-spoken, and always wore a smile. Shirley married Thomas St. Croix in 1954 and they lived in St Clair Shores, Michigan before heading south to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1979. They loved living on the water, their church, and making memories with family & friends. She enjoyed sharing stories about her life— from adventures in travels to the simpler moments like playing euchre. She returned to Michigan in 2019 and spent her last 3 1/2 years living a quieter life and enjoying the seasons. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas (2016), her mother and father, Elsie and William Stagner, and two of her sons, John & Larry St. Croix. She is survived by her son, Donald St. Croix; her brother, Michael Stagner & her sister, Betsy (Joe) Lutfy; grandchildren— Jason (Eva), Jeremy (Trisha), Sommer (Steve), Brandon, Robert, Jillian (Justin), Evan; great grandchildren— Jaydon (Emma), Mya, Siena, Liahna, Cameron, Jacob, Alaura; and great great grandchildren— Zander & Atticus; as well as nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Shirley was a devoted Christian and knew she was headed to a heavenly eternity. She will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at Family Church Port Charlotte (20035 Quesada Dr) on Monday, August 7th at 10:30am. Graveside service immediately after at Royal Palms Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda.
