Robert F. Hughes' Obituary
Robert F. Hughes, 88, formerly of Punta Gorda, Florida, died on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Tidewell Hospice in Venice, Florida. He recently resided at Village Place Retirement Home in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Robert was born on November 17, 1929, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Walter Hughes and Lillian MacKinnon Hughes.
He came to this area in 1975 from Brookline, Massachusetts, where he was treasurer for Brookline Savings Bank. After relocating to Florida, he worked for Five Star Realty for many years as a Realtor before his retirement in 2008.
Robert is survived by his two sons, William (Judy) Hughes of Venice and Robert Hughes of North Port, Florida; two step-sons, Harry (Cady) Rowe of Punta Gorda, Florida, and Kenneth (Elaine) Rowe of Westwood, Massachusetts; brother, Kenneth Hughes of Madison, New Hampshire; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Hughes, who died in November 2008.
