Paul G. Thomas' Obituary
Paul G. Thomas, age 100, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at his Punta Gorda residence.
Paul was born on October 25, 1919 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late Gust and Anna Lillian Thomas. Paul, a World War II veteran of the United States Navy, married Ann Tampas on December 1, 1946, and moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he worked for the United States Postal Service, and retired as Postmaster. They later moved to Spring Hill, Florida, and in 1998 relocated to Punta Gorda. Both he and Ann where members of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Paul is survived by his children, son Constantine Paul (Mary) Thomas of Amarillo, TX, daughter Eve-Ann Davis of Punta Gorda, three grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; a sister FiFi Psihogios and many extended family members. Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ann after nearly 68 years of marriage, and in addition to his parents, he was also preceded by a brother, Nick Thomas and a sister, Tomme Chehak.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. with evening prayer service at 6 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Homes Punta Gorda Chapel. A private funeral service celebrating Paul’s life will be held this Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, followed by burial at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens cemetery in Punta Gorda.
