Mildred G. Hicks' Obituary
Mildred G. Hicks, 94, of Port Charlotte, Fl, passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013. She was born March 6, 1919, in Camden, N.J., the only child of Lewis and Bessie griffith. Mrs. Hicks moved to this area in 1989 after reuniting with and marrying her high school sweetheart, George hicks. She formerly lived in California , where she had worked as a secretary with 3M for 30 years. She was a member of First presbyterian Church of Port Charlotte, and was a volunteer at Charlotte regional Medical Center. She is survived by her son, Harry (Linda) Gumm Jr. of Kent, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, harry Gumm Sr., in 1982; and her husband, George Hicks, in 2004.
