Margaret T. Untied's Obituary
Margaret E. Unties, 94, formerly of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, in Ridley, PA.
She was born Sept. 25, 1921, in Zanesville, Ohio.
Margaret earned her nursing degree from Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville in 1943. She married her husband that same year at Wendover Field in Utah. Margaret worked as a registered nurse over 45 years, and after moving to Florida served as a volunteer at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte. She was an active member of the San Antonio Catholic Church, where she and her husband were pastoral ministers. She was a member of the Ladies Guild. Over her many years she has lived in Ohio, California, Michigan, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Florida and Pennsylvania, making many lifelong friends along the way with her cheerful demeanor. Margaret enjoyed traveling, reading, time in the garden and most of all time with family and friends. She loved playing cards, particularly bridge and Russian bank.
Margaret is survived by sons, Anthony (Emily) Untied of Chesapeake, VA., David (Karen) Untied of Glendale, Ariz., Nicholas (Lorena) Untied of St. Petersburg, Fla.; daughter, Jeanne (Jeffrey) Fletcher of Ridley Park, Pa,; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Richard "Dick" Untied on Nov. 7, 2007.
