Janice Anne Johnston's Obituary
Janice Anne Johnston, 64, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, after a 20 month heroic battle with breast cancer.
She was born June 16, 1949, in Jersey City, N.J., and grew up in Fair Lawn, N.J. She graduated from fair Lawn high School in 1967, before moving to Arkansas. In 1986, Janice relocated to Punta Gorda, and worked for Medical Center Hospital.
In the early '90s, she showed multimedia art in regional juried shows, and was a member of the Visual Arts Center. Janice also participated in weekly art demonstrations at Fishermans Village.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 24 years, David Bruce Johnston; son, Shawn Paul Eudy; granddaughter, Darby Eudy; stepchildren, Rhonda Drinkwater, Robert, and Ronald Gofourth; sisters, Donna Stashuk and Cassandra " Sandy" Klein, who feel her loss; brothers, Brian Touhey, Daniel and Timothy Touhey, who also will miss her deeply; nephews, Christopher, and Daniel and Ryan Green; and niece, Adele. Janice was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Adelma; and father, Edward Patrick Touhey.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4p.m. and 6p.m. to 8p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Roberson funeral Home, 215 Mary St., Punta Gorda. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens (on Jones Loop Rd, east of Interstate 75) in Punta Gorda.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janice's name to Tidewell Hospice Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
