James A. Brown's Obituary
James A. Brown, 81, of Punta Gorda, Fl., passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014. He was born June 11, 1932, in Westerly, R.I., and moved to this area in 1997 from Clinton, MD. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a police officer for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department. Jim served as a Motorman for the Presidential Motorcade under the tenure of President Eisenhower through President Carter. He was active in the Washington, D.C., community as the former Govenor of Moose Lodge 1, and a member of the Elks Lodge, the American Legion, the VFW anf the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Blue Knights and Rolling Thunder. Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Brown of Punta Gorda; daughter, Jill (Gator Mason) Brown of Cape Coral, Fl; stepchildren, Larry Kincheloe and Raymond Kincheloe, both of Punta Gorda; brother, P.G. Underwood of Virginia; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
