Gerald Lindquist's Obituary
Gerald (Doones) passed away in his residence on December 2nd, 2021. He was born on November 25th, 1952 i Aurora, Colorado. As a small child, when asked his name (either unable or unwilling to say Gerald Jr.) he identified himself as "Doones", and so he remained. In 1957 Doone's father retired from the United States Army and the Lindquist Family moved to the newly developed, Port Charlotte, Florida.
Doones started his education at Sally Jones Elementary School in Punta Gorda. When St. Charles Borromeo opened in 1960 he was enrolled in the third grade. Doones graduated from Charlotte High School in 1970 and attended Edison Community College. Doones was a one time sub-contractor (soffit and facia), however the majority of his pre-disability life was spent in the hospitality industry, where he gathered many devoted friends. Doones is survived by his sister, Anna (Cheeky) Vann (Michael, his sister, Susan James, his nephew, Jason James (Dawn), his nephew, Benjamin James (Kelli), his grand-nephew, Jason L. James, and his grand-niece, Alexa M. James, all of Southwest Florida. He is pre-deceased by his father, Gerald E. Lindquist, his mother, Mary A. Lindquist, and his brother-in-law, Roger E. James. He will be forever missed and loved by his multitude of friends and his loving family.
