Evelyn M. Correll's Obituary
Evelyn Mae Correll, 86, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at her residence in Punta Gorda.
She was born Feb. 25, 1930, to Roy and Joyce Crane in Bedford, Indiana.
Evelyn attended school in southern Indiana. Evelyn married Leslie E. Correll in Bloomfield, Indiana, on March 19, 1947. God blessed them with four sons; seven grandsons; two granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Evelyn and Leslie opened a radio and television shop in Indiana, then moved to Punta Gorda in 1959, where they opened Les's Radio and TV on Marion Avenue, which they owned and operated until they retired. Evelyn and her husband both joined the Civil Air Patrol in 1960 where her husband was a pilot and Evelyn became a Captain and Commander of the Charlotte County Division. She also worked at the Charlotte County School Board Transportation Department from 1962 to 1993. Everyone who knew Evelyn loved her, and everyone was always saying what a sweet lady she was.
Evelyn is survived by her sons, Larry D. (Alice) Correll, Leslie E. (Linda) Correll Jr., and Jerry W. (Kim) Correll; daughter-in-law, Brenda; Evelyn's sisters, Imogene (Keith) Loehr, and Eva Maxine (Bud) Ashcraft; brother, Edward (Sherry) Crane; as well as her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Leslie Correll Sr.; her son, Terry L. Correll; three sisters, Catherine L. Crane, Lois M. Crane and Judith K. Gambill; one brother, Murl D. Crane; and three grandsons, Tommy Correll, Billy Correll and Daniel Correll.
