Dorothy Abecasis' Obituary
Dorothy Anne Abecasis, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 24, 2022. She had been a resident of Southwest Florida for the past 25 years.
Dorothy and her husband Robert began their family in Pleasant Valley, N.Y. There they had a horse farm, where she would care for the animals she loved so dearly. She was a homemaker through and through, dedicating her life to making her husband happy and providing love and support to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy leaves behind her beloved husband of 67 years, Robert H. Abecasis of Punta Gorda, FL; her children Robert Paul Abecasis (Rosemarie) of Doylestown, PA, Donnalee Anne Abecasis of Citra, FL, and Linda Thomas of Fort Myers, FL; her grandchildren Lisa Marie, Jillian Marie, Emily Marie, Sarah Marie, and Keelie Lynn; and her great grandchildren Ryan Paul, Kira Rose, Kayla Rose, William Frank, and Ayla Rose.
She was preceded in passing by her two sisters Margaret and Kathleen; and her son-in-law Richard Thomas.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial of the urn to follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Punta Gorda.
