Denise Ann Funk's Obituary
Denise Ann Funk, 63, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at her home.
She was born Dec. 3, 1952, the oldest daughter of nine children to Joseph F. and Elizabeth Marie Sheen Jr.
Denise and her beloved husband, James G. Funk, raised two children together before they moved from their longtime home of Fox Lake, Illinois, to Punta Gorda, Florida, in 1992, and following hurricane Charley, to Port Charlotte. Denise worked as an accountant, a clerk; she did so many things, and loyally served American Legion Post 103 in Punta Gorda as their Post's Auxiliary President and Chaplain.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, James; daughter, Nichole "Nikki" Czechowski of Athens, Georgia; son, Tad Funk; grandson, James Funk of Woodbridge, Illinois; her mother, Elizabeth Marie Sheen of Fort Myers, Florida; seven brothers and sisters, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family members and friends. Denise was preceded in death by her father and brother.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Denise's name are suggested to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home and by Royal Palm Memorial Gardens.
