Bonnie Hinkson's Obituary
Bonnie Hinkson, 87, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016.
She was born in Warren, Ohio, Oct. 13, 1928, daughter of Lena and Carl Loughrie.
Bonnie united in marriage to Arnold "Buck" Hinkson on May 14, 1949. They moved to Punta Gorda in 1987 from Warren, Ohio. After 60 years of marriage, Buck preceded Bonnie in death on Aug. 5, 2009.
Prior to moving to Punta Gorda, Bonnie worked at the Warren Telephone Company as an operator prior to having children, and was a bank teller at Second National Bank during the 1960's. She also was an active member of the Warren YWCA. While living in Punta Gorda, she was a member of a number of woman's social groups and also an active participant of Punta Gorda children's reading program for many years. Bonnie enjoyed reading, growing roses, and spending time with her close friends and family. She was an active sports enthusiast, particularly college football.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Gary (Karen) Hinkson; daughter, Regina Hinkson (Brennan) Botkin; four grandchildren, Steven (Alissa) Hinkson, Lauren Hinkson (Will Smith), Anne (Chris) Roster and Zackary Botkin; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Buck.
