Betty A. Johnson's Obituary
Betty A. Johnson, 83, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, after an unexpected and brief hospitalization. She was born Jan. 12, 1931, in Potomac, MD.
Betty spent her earlier years in the area outside Washington, D.C. In 1961, she married Thorvald "Tom" Johnson. In 1980, the Johnson family relocated to Punta Gorda, Fla., where Betty continued to work as a bookkeeper and an administrative assistant for various companies in the Punta Gorda community. Until 2013, she was employed in the administration office at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County, Fla.
Betty is survived by her only child, T. David Johnson of Port Charlotte; daughter in law, Kathleen Sigmon of Port Charlotte; best friend, Judy Young of Port Charlotte; sister, Marie Harmon; and niece, Debra Harris of Port St. Lucie, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thorvald "Tom" Johnson.
A private interment gathering will take place at a further date at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda.
