Dr. William Phillip Webster

Dr. William P. Webster was born in Mt. Airy, N.C. April 26, 1930. He retired in 1991 as Professor Emeritus in the schools of Dentistry and Medicine at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. He had been a resident of Punta Gorda since 2001. He was a master farmer, an inveterate optimist, and a lover of offshore sailing. Phil was a teacher, practitioner and researcher. Phil is survived by his loving wife, R. Ellen Brown; his twin brother, Dr. Paul D. Webster III; paternal half sister, Paula Graham; four sons, Chris G., Mark A., Ronnie M., and Phil; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul D. and Edith Gilbert Webster; and his first wife Marlene Martin Webster. A celebration of his life will be held at a future time in the Chapel Hill area.
